International Geoscience Youth Movement 2025
I-GYM Workshop - 24th- 29th July 2025
Building Climate Conscious Leaders Through Geoscience

Earth Sciences are vital in addressing climate change and environmental hazards
like floods, droughts, wildfires, heat waves, and landslides—issues that threaten India and the world.
Cultivating leadership and scientific thinking among global youth is essential
for solving our planet’s most urgent problems.
Global curricula should adopt a holistic approach
emphasise real-world climate challenges and encourage students to develop innovative solutions.
This workshop is a first-of-its-kind initiative in global Earth Sciences education,
hosted in India between 24th and 29th July 2025.
I-GYM 2025 is organised under the aegis of IGEO, with support from the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. Of India. This workshop will nurture future researchers and advocate for Earth science as a core subject, especially in countries where it is still underrepresented.
Prayoga Institute of Education Research
24th - 29th July 2025

Workshop Highlights
An intensive, residential workshop focused on two core challenge areas:
Enhancing Earth Science education by innovating ways to integrate geosciences meaningfully into school systems across the world.
Solving real-world Earth Science problems such as climate change, water scarcity, and natural disasters.
Features a dynamic mix of fieldwork, laboratory experiments, expert seminars, and collaborative dialogues to deepen knowledge and drive critical thinking.
Brings together interdisciplinary teams of students and mentors to co-develop concrete, context-sensitive solutions to both scientific and educational challenges.
The workshop will bring together 15 international and 15 Indian participants to Bengaluru, all of whom are individuals who have contributed to geosciences education in their respective contexts.
Prayoga envisions building an international movement that
builds climate-conscious leaders through Geoscience education
