POWDER X-RAY DIFFRACTION

Material Characterization (PXRD-MC)

The PXRD-MC will be highly interactive, combining lectures with hands-on sessions where participants will solve problems ranging from basic to advanced, reinforcing key concepts.

PXRD-MC will cover both data mining using the ICDD PDF-5+® database and methods of analysis embodied in ICDD PDF-5+® Sieve+ and ICDD MDI JADE® Pro software.

Hands-on access to PDF-5+® and JADE® Pro will be available through a remote desktop server via web access.

International Centre for Diffraction Data

The International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD®) is a non-profit scientific organization dedicated to collecting, editing, publishing, and distributing powder diffraction data for the identification of materials. The membership of the ICDD consists of worldwide representation from academe, government, and industry.

Vivertana

“Vivertana” is an organization focused on the distribution, installation and training on the International Center for Diffraction Data “(ICDD) databases and software” to the Indian universities, research institutions and industry. The name Vivertana is based on the definition given in Shabdkosh for diffraction.

Selection will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. The maximum number of participants, with access to software, is 70 numbers.

Online application to register for the workshop will be available from October 07, 2025. After the application is submitted, the first 70 applicants will be shortlisted for registration and details for the payment will be communicated.

Refreshments and Lunch will be provided on November 21 & 22, 2025.
Outstation participants will be provided accommodation based on availability. Contact the organizing team in advance.
Attendance for all sessions is mandatory to receive the certificate of participation.
Attendees should bring their laptops with wireless web access (Edge, Chrome, Firefox).

The PXRD-MC workshop is aimed at providing a specialized training by experts from ICDD and Vivertana to participants from the Indian universities, research institutions and industry on specially designed databases and software developed at ICDD.

This is expected to strengthen the capabilities of researchers to utilize these components in their research and development efforts. The ICDD produces materials databases, characterization tools, and educational materials, as well as organizing and supporting global workshops, clinics and conferences.
